Schools
In schools, I work with a variety of people at different levels in the organization. My work with senior administrators involves helping them explore the school’s mission regarding special education, admissions policies, financial aspects and a service delivery model appropriate to their school and vision.
I also work with groups of teachers, such as special education teachers, counselors, primary teachers and subject matter specialists. Typically, my consultative work assists groups of teachers to explore current challenges and to arrive at mutually acceptable responses.
I also consult with individual teachers, usually at the request of a senior administrator, who may require support in such areas as classroom management and the implementation of learning plans or IEPs for students with challenging needs.
I also assist schools in developing a cadre of paraprofessionals to support the work of the special education department.
